The GFW WEINTEST and the Berlin-based Gesellschaft für Weinbewertung have brought new ideas and energy with their cross-medial expertise to revitalize wine grading with a focus on the consumer.
- 2012 Founding of the Gesellschaft für Weinbewertung (independent, owner-managed business)
- 2013 Revision of the wine provisions by the German Upper House of Parliament that granted non-wine-growing German states the power to issue wine quality labels
- 2014 Recognition of the GFW WEINTEST by the state of Berlin as a quality label and acceptance in the German-wide compendium of grades and quality labels
- 2015: for the first time in Germany, a quality label may be given to the category "wine-based drinks"
- 2016: additional to the quality label GFW WEINTEST, the GFW runs the quality management system GFW QM
Florian Brunner (Director)
- Studies in Wine Business (Heilbronn University)
- Graduate thesis in collaboration with the OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine) about international wine competitions
- Head of tasting at the Berliner Wein Trophy 2006 (ca. 300 wine samples) until 2008 (2348 wine samples)

- Wine inspector for the state of Berlin until 2014
- Over 30 years of experience in assessing and inspecting wine at all levels of sales
- Tester at various international competitions for over 20 years
- Chairman of the jury at the Berliner Wein Trophy from 1998 - 2016
- Trusted expert for regional and national media (ZDF, Sat1, RTL, RBB)
